About

Don and Jill Neighbors

Don Neighbors began working for the Mansfield Cemetery as a teenager.  His hard work ethic earned him a job offer from a local funeral home where he remained for 12 years until the owner decided to start a burial company.  Don was asked to run the new company, he accepted and has been doing so since 1982.  He became the owner/operator of Buckeye Vault Service in the late 1980’s.

Together with his wife Jill, the Neighbors have been in funeral service with a combined experience over 75 years.  They started Buckeye Livery Service in the late 1990’s, and the Buckeye Casket distribution company in the early 2000’s.

Jill graduated from Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1990 as an embalmer/funeral director and has been a Licensed embalmer and funeral director for more than 30 years.

We pride ourselves in providing quality and professionalism to you the funeral home, and the families in our community.  We look forward to many more years of service to you and promise excellence while tending to each need during difficult times.

Don and Jill, along with their professional team offer services of necessity to help you honor those you love with quality products and experienced care.

The Neighbors use their combined experience to run a successful business, and in their free time enjoy cooking and spending time on the golf course.  They travel when possible, but always find some time for Lake Erie in the summer to gather with their three adult children and three grandchildren.

Cindy Elliott

Cindy Elliott began assisting with accounting at Buckeye in 2018 while continuing another full-time job. When the Administrator position was offered to her in the spring of 2021 she happily accepted, bringing her 35+ years of experience to Buckeye Vault Services, Inc. From manufacturing to contracting her skills are numerous, including administrative, accounting, customer service, and purchasing among others.

Representing Buckeye with detailed professionalism, Cindy treats each customer and associate with great courtesy and respect. Personalized covers and cap panels she “creates with heart” is one aspect of her job that makes it so meaningful. Although meeting directly with grieving families is not part of her role, every piece reflects the deepest sympathy and compassion she feels for them.

Cindy and husband Russ love watching sports with their sons Chaz and Tanner or being outdoors. She also enjoys upcycling vintage furniture and home décor or having some girl time with friends. It is likely her kind voice you will receive when calling the office, assuring you the best in service.
